This project was a collaborative effort between the esteemed Swiss watch brand, Horage, and Master of Arts students specializing in Design Products at the Royal College of Art. The initiative took the form of a competition open to all MA students. My proposal was chosen as one of the three winners, with plans for it to be manufactured or prototyped in Horage's upcoming series.

Cliche is not a good way to compete
We were instructed to incorporate the HORAGE K2 movement into the design proposal. In navigating this constraint, I initially drew inspiration from existing tourbillon watch designs. However, my initial attempts resulted in a design that felt cliché and conventional.

From 2D logo to 3D crystal case
Then I found the answer lies within HORAGE's inherent DNA, exemplified by its logo. To capture this essence, I employed crystal materials with various surface treatments, including clear and frosted finishes, to illuminate and showcase the logo while simultaneously revealing the intricate K2 movement. This design seamlessly integrates aesthetics, materials, and distinctive characteristics into a unified whole.
